I got a call from my son, Sgt. Honda. He interviewed for a new job in the Marines. Well, he got the job. He will now be driving a Lt. General around. Yea, not bad! He will also act as a body guard for the general too. Needless to say Sgt. Honda is very excited. [...]

I always watch Dancing With The Stars. I would love to learn ballroom dancing. Maybe someday. This week the stars showcased their most memorable years. There was lots of great stories but what stood out for me was J.R. Martinez and his struggle to come back after running over an IED in Iraq and was [...]

I am sitting here watching the 911 memorials. I have talked about my experiences that day. Several times. Today as I watch the 911 families find the names of their loved ones etched in the stone of the reflecting pools my thoughts turn to not only these families, but to the everyone in America that [...]

I ran across this story and just wanted to mention it here. Wayne Cole is a Chicago area resident. Two years ago he painted the hood of his corvette with the emblem of the Military Order of the Purple Heart along with the U.S. Flag in the background. He painted the car as a tribute [...]

So, apparently Sgt. Honda made it though Typhoon Muifa this past weekend. I had no idea this was going on and that is probably a good thing. I just happened to call him on Friday night and he said the worst had past at that point and he was busy mopping up his room. He [...]
