I received a call from Cpl Honda last night. Apparently he is not liking the place of many palms. At ALL. He is attending school there and having a bit of trouble. Seems it is harder than he thought. So after pouring out his woes, I did what any good Marine mom would do. I gave him a pep talk.

I told him to hang in there and I’m sure it will get easier. After all, he made it through boot camp and a deployment and he will make it through this school too. He said that he wondered what he got himself into and the only other time he thought that was when he got to boot camp. Hopefully no one is yelling at him this time. But, it is the Marines so you never know.

My guess is he will make it through and then say it wasn’t that bad. He did after boot camp. Funny, sometimes they still need mom to make it all better.

On another note, my nephew, Sgt Red will be deploying again soon. Please say a prayer for him and his safe return. Another roller coaster ride I am sure.
