Saturday, June 5 was Butterfly’s ninth birthday. Friends and family came to my home to celebrate and considering the temperature was over 100 degrees, we all a great time.
Four little girls played, ate and took turns whacking a pinata. Let me tell you, these girls did not hold back with that stick! Boys have nothing on these ladies.
Here is the four little lovelies. Oh, and did I mention it was an Hawaiian Party as demonstrated by all the leis. Also, these girls are all the same age. Butterfly is on the left. Lady Godiva’s granddaughter is next, the girl next to her is a friend and is named after a season. The girl on the end is Lady Godiva’s daughter and is the tallest girl’s aunt.
Lots of good food!
Waiting to hit the pinata.
There was gift opening. Lady Godiva and I decided we would like to try the t-shirt silk screening gadget.
Of course, my big red dog, Lucie was a part of the festivities.
Happy Birthday Butterfly:)
I made macaroni salad for the party. I sorta winged it. I did not follow recipe, instead I just used what I had. It turned out very yummy and was a hit. So here is my winged version.
- 16 oz package of small elbow macaroni
- one tomato
- 5 slices of bacon
- 6 oz of cheddar cheese
- 1 cup mayonaise
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Boil the macaroni until done and then drain. Slice the tomato in small chunks. Fry the bacon and crumble. Cut the cheese into small cubes. Add the ingredients to the macaroni. Stir in the mayo and chill.
That’s it. Nice and simple. I will be making this again.
