I hope everyone is having a nice weekend. I received a nice surprise. On Saturday morning, Cpl Honda called me and asked what I was doing. I said,

“Just playing on my computer.”

Then I asked him what he was doing. Here is what I heard,

“Getting ready to walk through your front door!”

I had no idea he was going to come. I knew he had a 96 this weekend, but he said he was not coming home because he will be here for a couple of weeks in June before he starts school for his new MOS.

So, lucky me. Last night we played RockBand again. Sorry, I can not help it. The game is fun.  actually scored a 99% on one song and trust me, I an not a singer.

All the new recipes I tried this past week were not too tasty to say the least, so I will leave you with one tried and true recipe that always works. After this past week’s disasters, I figured I should make something that would please everyone. Especially Corvette, because he actually told me that one dish looked like dog food!Obviously, he is not good at the art of tactfulness.

Broccoli Salad

• Two bunches of broccoli
• 1/2 pound bacon
• 1/2 cup cheddar cheese
• 1 cup mayonnaise
• 1/4 cup rice vinegar
• 1 tabl sugar

Cut the broccoli into small pieces. Fry the bacon and crumble. Cut the cheese into small pieces or put into the food processor. Mix the mayo, rice vinegar and sugar. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl. Chill for about 30 minutes and serve.

By the time I got around to taking a photo, most of the Broccoli Salad was gone. One serving remained and I managed to snap a quick photo, that is right before I ate it!
