Do you know a great military mother? Here is your chance to give her some well deserved attention. The winner will be flown to Washington D.C. and presented $5,000 award and a special recognition ceremony!
In addition, the Military Child Award ballots are know open and voting will run until midnight on March 11. A winner will be announced March 16. You can vote and nominate at Operation Homefront or Operation Homefront Online.
“The price of peace is paid by the entire military family, and our military moms are often the driving force that keeps everything going,” said Jim Knotts, chief executive officer, Operation Homefront. “With this award, we honor their service and sacrifice.”
I will update when voting starts for the Military Mother Award. There are a lot of great military mothers out there for sure. Being one, I know first hand of the sacrifice, worry and dedication it takes to be a military mother. On the other hand we also get to feel the pride and honor of having our children serve in the military. We never asked for the job of military mother. It was given to us the day our child came home and said, “Mom, guess what?”
